About

Insignia is a project dedicated to exploring open badging in research education. This blog contains research notes and ponderings on the key questions underlying this work:

  • Are open badges useful for research education?
  • Will students and supervisors understand and use them?
  • What are some of the barriers to implementing open badges within universities?

We aim to make this blog a useful resource for others who want to implement open badges in conventional university settings.

This project is funded by the Office for Learning and Teaching as a seed project. The project leader is Dr Inger Mewburn, Director of Research Training at the Australian National University.
